Our Executive Team

Albert Robledo — CEO

Albert Robledo is a big believer in Tony Robbins’ mantra, “The secret to living is giving.” He also feels there’s no room for ego. You have to listen, seek answers and be coachable. “I’m a person who has failed his way to success. I wasn’t always the most talented, but I had the tenacity and grit to study and learn my way to success,” he says. He strives to be an all-star leader, inspiring those who work with him to be great, both at work and in life.

After earning a bachelor’s degree in music education from Texas A&M-Kingsville, Albert began his career as a high school band director. He loved music and working with kids, but he wasn’t fond of formal test taking. In fact, Albert flunked his teaching exam the first four times he took it. This situation nearly derailed his career, and forced him to take a one-year hiatus from teaching, during which he worked in the oil fields. In his words, “That was the year I learned accountability and I grew up.” He got serious, passed the exam and returned to his dream of being a teacher.

However, it wasn’t long before Albert realized he had another dream: He wanted to earn more money. So, he began moonlighting in retirement planning. Insurance seemed to be a natural fit. “I was still doing what I loved — teaching and helping others. The only difference is that I was working with adults,” he explains.

Just as a waterfall begins with a single drop, Albert built his Harlingen, Texas-based agency one agent at a time. It wasn’t long until he had 100 agents. Today, Albert’s company, PTT Financial specializes in two lines of business: Medicare and retirement planning. He’s an expert in Medicare Advantage products, and he helps agents get licenses and teaches them how to run their business. He’s also developing a presence in indexed financial products and life insurance.

When he’s not at work, Albert enjoys fishing, studying Tae Kwon Do, reading and traveling. Above all, he values his time with his son Elijah.

Wally Gomez — CFO

Wally Gomez believes true success can only be measured through a healthy work-life balance. Everyone should live and work with brio – enthusiasm and vivacity.
In 2004, Wally earned his Bachelor of Business Administration with a major in accounting. Soon after, he took a staff accounting position with a local home health agency. There, he quickly transitioned to the role of accounting manager and eventually took the position of CFO. While working as the CFO, he earned his Master of Science in Accounting from Kaplan University in 2014.

His passion for business sparked an interest in helping local small business owners find a balance in their work and life. Once he completed his master’s degree, he began providing consulting and bookkeeping services to a few local small businesses, including PTT. He also took a part-time adjunct accounting professor position at Texas State Technical College.

Now he’s also the CFO at PTT. His goal is to ensure the organization operates efficiently and effectively so everyone involved can complete their respective duties at work and enjoy a fruitful life, and he’s happy to help with any questions agents have regarding the business side of their independent agent venture.

Wally is originally from Lyford, Texas, and now lives in Harlingen with his wife where they enjoy a fun-filled life with their two boys and four daughters. He strives to be at each event and activity his family is involved in and is very proud of their accomplishments. Of his four children who have already graduated from Harlingen High School, two are attending college and two are serving in the U.S. Army.

Cecilia Buitureira — Contracting Coordinator

Cecilia Buitureira believes you have to have passion for what you do.
Her passion is for helping people. As the Contracting Coordinator, she’s responsible for serving as the liaison between agents and carriers to ensure that agents have the contracts they need. But even once she’s done her part, she doesn’t see her job as finished until the agents are ready to work. This means that she’ll continue offering support if problems arise. If agents return with questions regarding quotes, decisions or other issues, she’s happy to help with that, too.

Agents can always count on her to provide answers. If she doesn’t know something, she’s happy to find out for them.

Cecilia studied to be a medical office assistant at the South Texas Vocational Technical Institute. After several years in the medical field, she used her knowledge of Medicare to transition to a career in the insurance industry.
When she first joined PTT Financial, it was as a receptionist, but she was quickly promoted to a position handling contracts. To her, working for PTT feels like being part of a big family. She enjoys the hands-on work she does with agents each day.

When Cecilia is not at PTT, she can be found spending time with her actual family. She and her husband have two sons and two daughters.

Sonya V. Alvarez — Contracting Specialist

Sonya V. Alvarez always tries to have a smile on her face. “Your first expression says a lot,” she explains, and she wants hers to say something positive.

Her desire to help people originally led her to pursue a career in nursing. She earned three certifications: as a medical office specialist, as a medical assistant and as a phlebotomist. Then a friend approached her with a job opportunity as a receptionist at a Medicare Advantage enrollment center. At first, she wasn’t certain the position would be right for her, but she soon discovered it was a great way to make a difference in people’s lives.

Searching for opportunities for career growth, she came to PTT Financial. At first, she was hired as a part-time receptionist, but she was quickly promoted to her current position as Contracting Specialist. Now she guides agents through the process of obtaining contracts and getting certified by carriers. She also provides Medicare 101 presentations.

Although she now works more with agents than with clients, she’s happy knowing she’s still helping. In the future, she hopes to earn her insurance license.

Regardless of her job title, she will always go out of her way to help people, whether they need assistance with a form or simply a kind ear. She strives to act with compassion, and she encourages others to do the same.

Born and raised in Texas, Sonya enjoys baking, crafting and dancing. She has two adult children: a son who is going to college and a daughter who works at PTT with her. She is also a grandmother to seven-year-old Ella Jane. She and her husband are caring for a baby boy they hope to adopt.

Daisy Polanco — Administrative Assistant

The only thing that’s constant is change.

That’s why Daisy Polanco is dedicated to continuous education and self-improvement. To be effective in the insurance industry, she needs to keep up with new regulations and current trends, which means the learning never ends.

As the administrative assistant at PTT Financial, Daisy maintains records and performs general clerical duties. Often, this entails helping agents with unusual situations and problems. If she doesn’t know the solution offhand, she’ll do the research necessary to find the answers – letting agents focus on their clients.

Before working in insurance, Daisy had a job in medical billing. The information she learned in that position helped her when she got to the other side of things, but there was still a lot to learn. Luckily, she’s a quick study. Daisy is now a licensed insurance agent, and she’s currently attending the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley to earn her Bachelor of Science.

She appreciates the atmosphere at PTT Financial, especially how everyone balances the need to be friendly with the need to get things done. Even as a new employee, she felt immediately welcome. When working with agents, she strives to deliver the same friendly service right from the start.

Daisy grew up the Rio Grande Valley, where she now lives with her husband and their two dogs. When she’s not busy with work or school, she enjoys playing soccer.

Amanda H. Zavala — Administrative Assistant

You’ve got to be ready for anything.

Amanda H. Zavala approaches each day with a positive attitude. She’s eager to take on whatever comes her way, and if that means buckling down to do some research, she’s happy to do so.

As the administrative assistant at PTT Financial, Amanda makes sure that the office runs smoothly. She also does helps with events. Whether it’s answering questions, sending faxes or filing reports, she does whatever needs to be done.

Before joining PTT, Amanda worked in retail and sales. At a health insurer’s call center, she honed her customer service skills and started developing her knowledge of insurance. Now, she’s working toward becoming a licensed insurance agent.
“I love working with people,” she says. “I like helping everybody.”

She explains that this was part of what attracted her to PTT. She saw that the staff truly cared about helping agents and clients. She also saw opportunities to learn new things and grow professionally.
People who work with Amanda will appreciate that she’s both patient and organized – a great combination in someone you need to help you.

Although Amanda spent some time in California, she grew up in Texas and is happy to be back. She loves spending time with her husband and their three children.
